UNICEF is leading the Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS global campaign which provides a platform for urgent and sustained action in four key areas: preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV, scaling up pediatric treatment and care for children infected with HIV, preventing new infections amongst adolescents, and supporting children affected by AIDS. UNICEF is on the ground in 155 countries and territories.





Y-PEER stands for Youth Peer Education Network. It is a groundbreaking comprehensive youth-to-youth education initiative pioneered by UNFPA. Y-PEER is a network of over 200 organizations and institutions, consisting of thousands of young people, working in the broad areas of adolescent sexual and reproductive health. The network, which is constantly expanding, consists of youth from Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and both North and East Africa.

Formed in 1971, Family Health International (FHI) is among the largest and most established nonprofit organisation active in international public health with a mission to improve lives worldwide through research, education, and services in family health. FHI manage research and field activities in more than 70 countries to meet the public health needs of some of the world’s most vulnerable people.






UNESCO functions as a laboratory of ideas and a standard-setter to forge universal agreements on emerging ethical issues. The Organisation also serves as a clearing house – for the dissemination and sharing of information and knowledge – while helping Member States to build their human and institutional capacities in diverse fields. In short, UNESCO promotes international co-operation among its 193 Member States and six Associate Members in the fields of education, science, culture and communication.






The World Bank is one of the world’s largest sources of development assistance. Its primary focus is on helping the poorest people and the poorest countries. As a co-sponsor of UNADIS, which coordinates the global response to the epidemic, the World Bank has committed more than US$1.7 billion to combating the spread of HIV/AIDS around the world. The Bank has pledged that no country with an effective HIV/AIDS strategy will go without funding and, in partnership with African governments, launched the multi-country HIV/AIDS Program (MAP), which makes significant resources available to civil society organisations and communities.






Established in 1994 by MAC Cosmetics, the MAC AIDS Fund supports men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. Introducing its first VIVA GLAM lipstick that same year, MAC decided that every cent of the selling price of the VIVA GLAM lipstick would go to the MAC AIDS Fund. With a total of six shades of VIVA GLAM lipstick and two shades of Viva Glam lipglass now sold worldwide, and through the annual Kids Helping Kids Card Program, MAC Cosmetics has provided over US$100 million to date for the MAC AIDS Fund. The MAC AIDS Fund is the heart and soul of the company – with its employees giving their time, energy and talent to help those affected by HIV/AIDS worldwide.

The Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation, Sida, is a government agency under the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Sida’s goal is to contribute to making it possible for poor people to improve their living conditions.





The Department for International Development (DFID) is part of the UK Government that manages Britain’s aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty. International development refers to efforts, by developed and developing countries, to bring people out of poverty and so reduce how much their country relies on overseas aid. Many different things can contribute to development which reduces poverty, such as settling conflicts, increasing trade, secure more and better aid, and improving health and education.
