As HIV/AIDS continues to spread, the generation most at threat is the world's youth. According to UNAIDS, young adults under the age of 25 account for more than half of all new HIV infections each year. UNAIDS reports that approximately one third, or 12.1 million, of those estimated to be living with HIV/AIDS worldwide were under the age of 25. There are almost 6,000 infections per day among 15-24 year olds, one every 15 seconds. Youth are at the greatest risk of contracting HIV. Prevention is key to stemming the spread of HIV.
You can help the Staying Alive Foundation help young people prevent AIDS by making a donation. Any amount you can give will make a difference, and your gift may be tax-deductible depending on the laws of your country.
