for the 'live with it' person--->i could only imagine what you're going through. im glad that you have learned to 'live positively' with HIV.
as for me and the many young filipino people, no offense but we could just wish that we wont have the same fate. you see, a considerable percentage of the youth here are sexually-active but sadly, many members of our sector lack or are unable to acquire the highly important correct information in regard to our sexual and reproductive health. many of us are unaware of the consequences of unprotected penetrative sex. we are therefore at risk of STIs and HIV and AIDS, not to forget early and unplanned pregnancies.
another alarming reality that we are facing is the fact that our region lacks the facilities on HIV and AIDS detection. this reality is in a way a product of the being uneducated in regard to sexual and reproductive health of the many representations of our society.
our HIV and AIDS registry presents a total of less than 3000 infected people since the 1980s, but with the aforementioned fact, i for one think that the registry is both inaccurate and irrelevant. i am in a lot of fear that unknowillingly more people even from the youth sector have been infected with HIV.
i could only hope that soon, people from the various sectors of our society will be enlightened and will put importance on our SRH issues.
