The Big Question

Submitted by editor_en on Fri, 09/26/2008 - 09:56.

It is today a VERY big question… the risks are known, they’re taught in schools, publicised on the TV and the net, so why is unsafe sex rife especially in today’s youth.

I don’t know the answer… but what I do know is that for only about £1, or for free from many places, a simple condom can reduce the risk of HIV massively.

So why does unsafe sex continue to be so widespread. If the definitive answer to that question was known, like with many things, it could be prevented. The fact is however, that the answer to that is 100% normative and open to endless debate.

Young people becoming sexually bolder because of 'Bebo Effect'

Submitted by editor_en on Thu, 09/04/2008 - 10:33.

Whether it’s jumping on Facebook to check your latest wall posts, commenting on a friend’s page on MySpace or blogging away on Bebo – young people simply find it far easier to talk, flirt and get a date online.

In the UK, a survey of 2,000 young people aged between 16-24 showed a whopping 93% of those aged between 16-21 regularly used social networking websites with some suggesting it has helped them share and find information about sex.

Why do people cheat?

Submitted by editor_en on Wed, 08/27/2008 - 10:39.

Why is it that so many people in this world just can't stick to the one girl or guy that they're going out with?

What is it, do you think, that makes people cheat?

I've known people who've been in relationships and are totally in love - but when an opportunity presents itself with a hot person, they just can't resist...

Why is it that no matter how good we have things, we always want something more?

Sex and the Summer

Submitted by editor_en on Wed, 08/20/2008 - 11:53.

Summertime… it’s not just the sun that is out – it’s schools, universities… exam stress is over, parties begin, holidays are booked and enjoyed. Schedules relax a bit and everyone is just looking for ways to enjoy themselves and have a good time.

Generally in the summer time, people relax; but remember this is no excuse to relax your rules when it comes to practising safe sex and looking after your sexual health.

We polled 3000 18-30’s and this is what we found:

* Almost a third (31%) have had sex with someone they’ve only ever met while on holiday

Congratulations

Submitted by editor_en on Fri, 08/08/2008 - 21:14.

At this week's AIDS conference in Mexico City, DELL Product (RED) kindly agreed to gift 4 new XPS M1330 13.3" laptops, some of the THINNEST and LIGHTEST in the world!

To be in with a chance of winning people had to stop by the MTV Staying Alive media lounge and tell us how winning the laptop would help them and their project or organization.

Congratulations to our 4 lucky winners!

IAC - Mexico

Every two years, the International AIDS conference provides opportunities for people all over the world to share experience, and increase the knowledge and expertise of professionals working in HIV/AIDS. It is the largest regular conference on any health or development issue, and is also used as an opportunity to publicly intensify political and financial commitments to the fight against AIDS… you get it right? It’s a pretty big deal!

First Time Testing

Submitted by editor_en on Thu, 07/10/2008 - 14:17.

As a 23 year old ‘adult’, working for the world’s largest multimedia HIV/AIDS awareness campaign, you’d think I’d be well aware of my status. It’s something that’s referenced every single day in my workplace; you get tested and know your status… Someone like me must practice what I preach, right?

Well… unfortunately if you thought that, you’d be wrong… Up until a month ago that is.
